Light Seconds
As a play on the term ‘light years’, this collection is titled “Light Seconds”. These futuristic long exposure portraits featuring model Carol Larsen were created using a variety of lights, torches, modifiers and coloured gels. Each image is named after the exposure time. Influenced by space travel and lighting schemes in sci-fi and movies such as Atomic Blonde and John Wick 2, I wanted to create brightness in the darkness; with light and colour to be the dominating elements. While I did my best to plan each image, these are completely experimental works where the final result could never be predicted, a bit like life.
